Andrea Berkowitz

Andrea Berkowitz is a partner of the firm and regularly practices in New York City as well as Nassau and Suffolk counties. She represents individuals in a wide range of family law matters, including equitable distribution, spousal and child support, custody and access, paternity, and pre-nuptial and post-nuptial agreements. Andrea is highly regarded as a compassionate and zealous advocate who takes the time to help each client develop legal strategies custom tailored to achieve their individual goals.  While Andrea believes that a client’s best interests, both emotionally and financially, are often served by staying out of the courtroom, she is a formidable courtroom advocate and litigator when a settlement is not possible. Prior to joining SSL, Andrea practiced at several preeminent boutique matrimonial firms in Manhattan where she represented high net worth clients in complex matrimonial and family law matters. Before devoting her practice to matrimonial and family law, Andrea was a Special Assistant Corporation Counsel for the New York City Administration for Children’s Services. 

Andrea has been recognized in the legal industry for her excellence in family law by earning acclaim from New York Super Lawyers, which named her a Rising Star. Andrea is a member of the Matrimonial Committee of the Nassau County Bar Association, the Family Law Section of the New York State Bar Association and the New York City Bar Association. She received her B.A. from Arizona State University and her J.D. from Hofstra University School of Law, where she served as an editor of the Hofstra Law Review.

Andrea resides on Long Island with her husband and their three sons.
